Women-owned bank proposed for Grandview Heights – among fewer than 20 nationwide – Columbus Business First

A proposed new Central Ohio bank aims to champion financial literacy and entrepreneurship for women.

Fortuna Bank, which is still in organization, submitted its application Wednesday to the FDIC and Ohio Division of Financial Institutions. If approved it would join fewer than 20 women-owned banks in the nation, out of some 4,800 banks. The new bank’s organizers could find 14 overall – only a handful intentionally organized under female ownership.
